Traditional Kellerskopf Hike

The Troop gathered at the Scout hut in Wiesbaden and was getting ready for their traditional 10-mile hike to the Kellerskopf memorial. While the Scouts practiced map reading skills along the hike, some adults already drove up to the Kellerskopf and set up the lunch station for our hungry Scouts.
This annual hike is a joint venture for Boyscouts and our bridging WEBELOS preparing them for life within a Scout troop and help them to connect to the Scouts for an easier transfer. The WEBELOS did pretty well on the hike! After eating lunch in the great outdoors the Scouts scrubbed the Boyscout memorial, our annual Service project, to remove all the green stains from the marble.
It's hard to gather them all around the memorial for a group shoot, but we finally got them. Great job and great hike Troop 107!

Shooting day with WEBELOS

Troop 107 invited the WEBOLO II from Pack 13 and Pack 65 to our Shooting day at the range for a fun-filled day of BB-gun shooting. Many WEBOLOS showed up and had to be teamed in small groups.
Our older Scouts had to take the lead and explain safety rules and guidelines to ensure that nobody got hurt. Looks like they all had a great time.
While the Ass. Scoutmasters watched and supervised, our Scouts had a chance to shoot the BB guns as well. Good job, Troop 107!

Boy Scout Sunday 2012

Boy Scout Sunday was celebrated on February 5th, 2012 and many of Troop 107's Scouts participated within their churches serving as ushers and helping out with other services throughout the mass.
Boyscouts as well as Cubscouts came out to show that a Scout is reverent, for "he is reverent toward god, he is faithful to his relgious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion." (Mr. Heiges, Troop 107 Chaplain)

Mini-Klondike at Rheinblick

Since our Troop couldn't participate in the TAC Klondike in Switzerland this year, we decided to hold a "Mini-Klondike" at Rheinblick to test our Scouts winter survival skills. We also invited another local troop and our bridging WEBELOS to join in on some fun-filled activities!
The split up all patrols to incorporate the WEBELOS and our younger Scouts and each patrol had to go thru different stations like First Aid and Map skills......
Team-building was very important to move the sled over the dry and snow-free ground at Rheinblick. All Scouts did extremely well and enjoyed a wonderful January afternoon at our local camp-site.
One patrol with their sled and equipment, awaiting the next task! Good job, Troop 107!

Historical Hike in Bastogne, Belgium

67th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, December 10, 2011. It was freezing cold at the start of the hike but we were thankful it wasn't raining!
Looking a bit tired at the 6 mile mark about half way through the historical trail.
The boys were thrilled to see all the historical military vehicles and reenactment soldiers from WWII.
The boys took turns holding the equipment in original trenches and were able to experience the life of a soldier during WWII.
